We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of a single-family household. This position requires a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, an understanding of different cleaning methods for various surfaces and materials, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, and the ability to navigate the presence of the family in the home with discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough cleaning, dusting, mopping, and polishing activities in all rooms, ensuring attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Tidy up rooms and organize living spaces, maintaining a presentable household environment at all times.
- Clean and sanitise kitchens and bathrooms, managing tasks with diligence.
- Carefully handle different types of furniture and materials, using appropriate cleaning methods and products to avoid damage.
- Manage household waste by collecting, sorting, and disposing of trash and recyclables appropriately.
- Assist with laundry tasks as needed, especially in the absence of designated co-workers.
- Restock household supplies and ensure necessary items are always available.
- Report any damages or malfunctions within the household promptly.
- Adhere to all health and safety standards and protocols.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Deep Cleaning and Maintenance: Engage in deep cleaning of parts of the house and assist with additional cleaning during maintenance work, especially during family holidays.
- Garden Maintenance: Conduct daily inspections and light maintenance of the garden to ensure it remains presentable.
- Pet Care: Participate in a rota for walking the family’s two small dogs during the day, ensuring their well-being and exercise needs are met.
Additional Requirements:
- Inhabiting in Amsterdam and its surroundings.
- Demonstrated experience with a variety of cleaning methods for different surfaces and materials.
- Integrity and confidentiality in handling household matters and respecting the privacy of the family.
- Awareness of the family’s presence and discretion in choosing appropriate times to clean specific areas of the house.
- Proven track record of reliability, with references to attest to your work ethic and capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a cleaner or housekeeper.
- Knowledgeable about cleaning chemicals and proper storage and disposal methods.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and mobility.
- Good communication skills.
