How did you end up at 24NANNIES?
I ended up at 24NANNIES through a Facebook post. I was immediately triggered by the post, because I have always loved dealing with children and I wanted babysitting as a side job. I had a super nice job interview and immediately felt comfortable with the 24NANNIES team.
What do you like about being a nanny?
What I love about babysitting is the contact with children. I love to see how each child is different. I also like to give children a nice day and a smiling child makes me happy. I am very happy with my job as a babysitter. Because what could be more fun than dealing with children?
How often do you babysit through 24NANNIES?
It varies a lot per month how often I babysit at 24NANNIES. Previously, I had a regular babysitting family through 24NANNIES, where I babysat one afternoon a week. Also, a while back I worked every Sunday during an event through 24NANNIES. I really enjoy working at events. 24NANNIES provides nannies at many weddings and parties. I have already worked as a nanny at some of these events. Often you are together with another nanny, which is of course very nice. That way you also meet other nannies and make lots of contacts. If I have a month with more time, I respond to more jobs and if I want to spend time on my studies, that is also possible. I really like this flexibility! I can decide for myself how often and when I babysit.
Is being a nanny easy to combine with your studies and other activities?
Babysitting is very easy to combine with studies and other activities. I am in the last year of my studies and I am very satisfied with the flexibility of 24NANNIES. When I am in an exam week, I do not respond to jobs and therefore have no work. If I have a quieter period, I respond to jobs more often and I also have more work. This allows me to earn extra money in those weeks.
Why is being a nanny the ideal side job for you?
For me, babysitting is the ideal job because it allows me to gain experience in terms of working with children. I enjoy playing with children, whether it is playing outside or doing crafts. I like working as a babysitter because I enjoy giving children a fun and safe day. I also find interacting with parents a positive part of babysitting.
